Zac SimpkinsOwner/All Around Plant Afficianado

Zac is a native of Osceola, IN, but has called Bloomington his home since 1994.  Plants have always been a part of his life whether it was working in the family garden, taking classes at local botanical gardens, or hunting for them on camping trips in Northern Indiana/Southern Michigan.  Having landscaped his way through college, and after earning a Geology degree from Indiana University, Zac took his passion for propagating plants for his livelihood.  In 2005, with the help, support, and encouragement of his wife Beth, he developed a nursery on the site of Twin H Tree Farms which gave him a deeper plant education.  After 12 years, Zac left that retail nursery site in search of a new location.

After a day caring for plants on client properties, you’ll find Zac working feverishly in his own yard, creating and playing music, grabbing a quick bike ride, or plotting his next weekend camping trip…all while dreaming away…

Kathleen Anderson-NekolaLandscape Designer/Plant Hoarder

Kathleen hails from Noblesville, IN and has lived in Bloomington since 1995.  Growing up as a hard working farm girl on her family’s hog farm, she learned a supreme love for all living things: cats and dogs, chickens and pigs, and plants and trees.  Kathleen received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University then a Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from Indiana State University.  Kathleen has been earning her living in the landscape plant world for over 25 years.  She joined Harmony Gardens in 2010 and has been instrumental in its operation since day one.

After a day of working hard with our clients you will find Kathleen lovingly tending to her own gorgeous gardens which earned her yard a showcase in the Bloomington Garden Club’s annual Garden Walk in 2014.  Kathleen also enjoys creating visual art and caring for her cats, dogs, chickens, and goat.  If you listen closely, you’ll hear her husband Matt, and daughter Lauren encouraging her to sing another silly song to their pets!
